Youth Service Bureau’s Inaugural Gala
Thank you to all who helped make our inaugural Gala a great success! You truly have made Brighter Futures possible, and helped expand our mental and chemical health services at our Cottage Grove, Stillwater and Woodbury locations and in School Districts 622, 833 and 834.
We are grateful to our partners, donors, sponsors, volunteers, Board members and staff who made the event possible. All funds donated at the Gala (or given toward the capital campaign) will be matched 1:1 by Otto Bremer Trust up to $200,000.
Our staff heard comments like “I could have listened to Dr. Walsh for hours” and “I enjoyed your youth speaker, what a great story!” People were saying “I’ve known about YSB for a long time but I didn’t realize all the different things you do” and “I had no idea what was involved in Diversion – what a great program!”
YSB is thrilled about the growing connections and partnerships in our communities. Our founder David Knefelkamp said he had hoped that YSB would expand when he envisioned the organization 40 years ago; what a legacy he has given to our community!
One of our speakers and staunch advocate Pete Orput (Washington County Attorney) and his table full of Washington County staff let guests know how much they rely on the work of YSB.
We had great representation from Cottage Grove (Mayor Myron Bailey), Stillwater (Mayor Ted Kozlowski) and Woodbury (Mayor Mary Giuliani Stephens). All three districts that are benefitting from our capital expansion campaign were well represented (622, 833 & 834).
Funds raised in 2017 towards Expansion Campaign will continue to receive a 1:1 match through Otto Bremer Trust!
“Early intervention is key to steering challenged youth toward a path leading to more positive and responsible behavior. Countless young men and women have benefited from the innovative and caring programs YSB has offered for over 40 years.” Dr. David Walsh, award winning psychologist, international speaker and author.
Your support is a critical part of our effort to raise over $1.1 million to meet the needs of families across Washington County!
Expansion Campaign Goals:
Add three licensed Therapists
to meet the increasing demand for therapy services in Woodbury and Cottage Grove, and increase access to our services in diverse and underserved communities.
Grow our School-Based Services
by adding three chemical health specialists to expand current support in District 834 and add chemical health specialists on-site in ISD 622 and ISD 833.
Increase Youth and Family Education Services
to fill the gap in education and avenues of support available for parents of teens, and increase community partnerships/ engagement.
Update evaluation metrics, support capital investments, upgrade IT & phone systems, and complete deferred maintenance projects.
